Beginning A Rough Cut - Second Editing Session

Today we wanted to begin placing all of our shots in chronological order for our sequence. Soon after we began, we realised that the parts we filmed in the beginning of our day, when Adam was preparing to go for a run outside of the house, that the action didn't line up. This causes many issues when it comes to the continuity editing in this part of the sequence. We tried to problem solve this for a while and then realised it was an issue we should come back to. Instead, we began from when Adam left for his run to not waste time and cut into more important parts of the sequence. Naturally, our sequence will take longer to film as many shots were dependent on the day compared to other sequences that are highly structured and regimented with the contents of each shot, the types of shots etc. It takes longer as we must look through the unplanned football game shots to find parts in the action that remain cohesive with the action shots we had planned.

Later on in the day, I went back to the editing suite to try and continue making progress. I copied the work we had done as a group along the timeline to make it easy to delete or shift around if the group didn't like any of it. The point in this is to just play around and get an idea of what we could possibly want, and if we don't like it - what we don't want. I added around 30 seconds taking it up to 1 minute, however, it was still a rough cut to get an idea, we would still cut shots between others and add detail through reaction shots etc.
