Team Meeting 5

 

The objective of today's meeting was to continue pinning down our ideas and clarifying what elements of football we wanted to show, this being training sessions, changing room/ team discussions and matches. The original idea for the film was for it to be a football drama however we began developing it to be more of a sports film, today we decided that we should reintroduce the elements of drama through dialogue so it doesn't just become a film based on the sport alone but the trials that come with being a small up-and-coming football team. The second thing we discussed was wether it was to be set in a changing room, training session or match, we came to the conclusion that we wanted to include all of them, leading us to a montage style of sequence in order for us to achieve this. Following this we needed to agree what order we would see these different parts of the team's journey and if it would appear chronologically. To add a change in dynamics and begin in-media-res to captivate the audience's attention, we determined that it was still best to begin with the match, as discussed in the previous meeting, and the cut to a training session the day before to create variation in tension as the training session would be less tense than the match and allude to the idea that the film also includes drama within the team.
