Saul Bass VS. Modern Day

Saul Bass + Recent Title Sequences

Title sequences featuring his work:

Catch Me If You Can

Similar in style, it is clear that Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Deygas took inspiration from Saul Bass' work as the discreet opening title sequence with vivid colors and concise yet detailed summary of the storyline.

Mad Men

Although similar in terms of sound and concept, it appears to be quite detailed with the photos of real people, juxtaposing the prominent animated style of the sequence - separating it slightly from Saul Bass' original work.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Very similar to the previous 2 title sequences, this its another example of where the title sequence has been inspired by Saul Bass' work. It features more simplistic geometric shapes compared to 'Mad Men' but I feel as though 'Catch Me If You Can' is the closest to Bass' original work due to the influence of lines as well. However they all pay homage to Bass' Work.

The Adventures of TinTin

Despite these examples that display sequences inspired by Bass' work, opening title sequences appear to be a thing of the past and more often than not only appear at the end of films as closing credits.
