Preparation For Shoot Day

As we get closer to the production day, we need to ensure we have established props, costume and location and that if we need to buy anything it can be done prior to returning back to school.

In regards to location, our ideal and preferred location is Meadowbank, Dorking (the pitch belonging to the Dorking Wanderers). Our college already uses their grounds to train on a Tuesday afternoon, so we thought it would be best to approach them with this connection in mind. Correspondingly, we planned on asking teachers at our college for the correct people to contact so that we are organized and professional rather than appearing amateur and unsure as we keep asking around. As it stands (15.04.21) we have not been able to get a contact but we plan on doing this within the first week back at school.

The drafted email to Meadowbank:

Carl Lieberman's blog post:

Over our Easter holidays, we decided collectively as a group that we are going to make use of our school football kit for our A1 coursework project. For the opposing football team were still have a few options. Either we ask one of the football teams down at the shooting location if they would be willing to just help us by lending us a few extras for a few shots. Otherwise, we can try and see if we have an away kit. So long as the opposing teams kit has different colours then we are prepared. We also might find ourselves using a few windbreakers for a few of the shots of the players making their way to the football grounds. Alternatively, our teacher (Adam) trains in a local team and is prepared to borrow the kits if we need it.

(Now my post again)

When it comes to props, we don't need to buy anything as everything can be provided by the actors/ our group without having to pay for new things. This is because our prop lists includes:
- footballs
- backpacks/ sports bags
- whistle
- water bottles
etc.
All of these things can be supplied by the actors, as they are all footballers, and the school's sports department. The props are important to our shoot as they add to the realism and reflect the sporty atmosphere of the sequence. Additionally, it is important that we have multiples of items so that in the changing rooms it looks cluttered and used. If everything was bought new, it would all look extremely clean whereas we are going for a more 'rough-around-the-edges' tone in terms of the team members.
