Subsequent to filming with sound, we had to edit our sequence together, and in order to do this we had to learn a few more skills. Firstly, we learnt how to delete the second microphone recording as it is only a copy of the first (because we only use one mic). To do this we right clicked on the shot, in the timeline, 'unlinked' deleted the bottom sound clip, and then 'linked' them in the same way. It is important to re-link them before you move the shot around again as it can make them out of sync and the visual could move at the wrong time to the sound. In Premiere Pro, when you want to increase the volume, it becomes immediately animated rather than increasing the volume within the whole clip. To avoid this, you click on the shot in the timeline so it appears in the top left hand video section. Then you go to 'effect controls', 'audio and volume' and click the icon to the right of 'level' to toggle it. To control the volume you simply just click on the number to type and change it or you drag right for up and left for down. When editing small details, such as specific words, it is easier to use the '+' key to zoom in and the '-' to zoom out. Other controls that might help are 'c' which changes the cursor to a scissor tool (a single click then cutting the shot) and the 'v' key to turn it back to the cursor/ arrow - an easy way to remember this is thinking a 'v' upside down is an arrow head!
