Creating A Shotlist

This morning our team meeting was very productive as we sat down and discussed all of our ideas so far and how we could organise and compile them into a successful sequence. We created a shot list as it is very important for the actual film day as well as ensuring that we are all on the same page in terms of the final product. Additionally, it gave us a chance to refine our ideas. This is the shot list/ notes we created as a group:

- Running onto the pitch after half time
- Close up of referee blowing the whistle
- Ball is passed from centre
- Someone runs in (shot of feet)
- Tracking side shot, tight on the action, player tackling opposition and running through them (the switch video)
- Ball goes out of shot in pass
- Ball re-enters shot in training, someone touches the ball with their chest
- Then see guys on the pitch at training
- Player that has just received the ball tries to pass and completely misses
- Passive aggressive dialogue between the players
- Coach calls the team in to do dribbling drills (eg. running through cones)
- Wide shot of player running towards the cones
- Shot of feet running/ dribbling through the cones
- Cuts to shot seeing the player running towards the camera but now it is in the match and he's running through people rather than cones
- Shot continues with him sprinting forward until opposition enters the frame with a slide tackle
- Tracks into slow-mo briefly but player hits floor in real time
- Cut to POV shot from him on the floor during training, see the coach looking down on him
^ dialogue along the lines of "get off the fucking floor then!"
- Player begins to stand up and glances to the edge of the pitch
- Eye-line match, audience see coach
- Cut to over the shoulder (coach) watching the training on left side
- Track with head in front of camera
- Now on right hand side over the coach's shoulder and is watching the match
^^^ transition
- POV from parent/ crowd? Into changing room? (ask Adam in next meeting with him how this will be best achieved)
- Final penalty

03/02/321

This meeting we spoke to Adam (our teacher) about what we should do with the crowd and changing room shots. He told us shots from the crowd probably wouldn't be feasible due to the amount of people we would need to have for it. Instead, it would be far more effective if we used sound to emulate the atmosphere.

Additionally, we decided to have the changing room scene take place before half time but be cut into the sequence before the final penalty shot. As our scene is not done in chronological order the doesn't matter too much, but also it would work as a flashback. Here is the idea we came up with to integrate it effectively: the penalty shot is being set up, and as the player prepares himself it flashes back to their changing room team talk at half time. It would be a high intensity moment, perhaps with heart beating in the background, and then the final shot would be taken and the title of the film would appear. This way, we keep the opening and middle parts of the sequence the same as we really liked that part.
