Our lesson today was as a full class, where our teacher (Adam) went over the expectations of our work for the next few weeks and how the development of our ideas will affect our planning and researching and vice versa.
Development:
The first element we discussed for the progress of our title sequences was development. The most important part of this is to record our group decisions and new ideas on our blog. These new ideas and decisions will change our narrative, mood boards, shot list and storyboards.
Planning:
As a result of the narrative changes in the development stage, this alters the planning aspect of the process. As well as changing the shot list and storyboards, it would also require a new character list, cast list, location (and researching the costs and availability around them), costume list (where to find them) as well as the shooting schedule to maximize efficiency and organisation on the day.
Research:
The research section is heavily influenced by the factors listed above but also includes general opening title sequence analysis, research into similar title sequences and products akin to our idea. Additionally, we need to ensure we have ample research into practical challenges - for our idea specifically, how we would film football, and research into props and costumes.
To fully understand what was expected of us, we reviewed an example of a blog and title sequence from 2015 that followed this structure:
